Media Event 2010
The work to be done in the project run is distributed into work packages
Work package 1 will run ahead of other work packages as it is devoted to initiating the project.
Otherwise the subsequent four work packages will run alongside during the duration of the project.
Work package 2 The main objective of this work package is to explore the importance of the sturgeon fish resources for the human settlements in the Danube delta, with special emphasis on the present ban of sturgeon fishery and the consequences for the people living in the delta area.
The biological work package (WP3) will require telemetry equipment to be bought to be used for the project. This includes acoustic and satellite tags and automatic and manual acoustic receivers. These are standard research equipment for studies of fish movement.
The tourism work package (WP4) intends to research and construct four pilot tourism facilities: - pilot boat (Viking boat transport from Norway and equip with outboard motor and sleeping facilities, incl. training in RO by Norwegian expert)
- Holding tank to see and touch sturgeons by tourists;
- Shelter on the bank of the river for sturgeon fishermen to meet tourists;
- Special bungalow to host tourists overnight when visiting sturgeon farm in Horia.
Work package 5 aims at publicising project activities and results. It also arranges for continuation and follow-up of the project.
We intend to exchange / use experience with / of existing fish-tourism in Norway.
